PLAY Days

P.L.A.Y. stands for “Please Look After Yourself”!

Wise women set aside PLAY Days to do just that. Attending a monthly support group meeting might be one expression of that commitment to yourself.

However, you can create your own PLAY Days wherever you are and with whomever you choose. The main idea is that the purpose of the day and of any activities in the day is to care for yourself on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. The concept of “play” of course enters into this — there should be a spirit of relaxation and fun, a realisation that although caring for yourself is a serious necessity, the way you do it does not always have to be ultra-serious.

Also, there’s no need to feel guilty about it. A PLAY Day is a day of celebration, a day for reconnecting with yourself as a woman and with the female principle as expressed in other women and in nature. It is good for you, and for those you love, for you to be able to play like a child every now and then, and also, like a child, to look after yourself first. Paradoxically, not to do this, not to nurture yourself and give yourself time and space for renewal, is actually quite irresponsible!
